Dr Tristan Pearce and five USC graduates (Renee Currenti and Matthew Brown) and undergraduate students (Diana Olsen, Zoe Arch and Roger Kitson), who are members of the FijiADAPT research team, presented papers at the biannual conference of the Australian Association of Pacific Studies (AAPS) at the Cairns Institute at James Cook University. The conference brought together over one hundred researchers from multiple disciplines who focus their research across the Pacific.
Tristan, Renee and Diana presented preliminary findings from the research to a panel on Adaptation, Resilience & Changing Land and Marine-based Livelihood Systems in the Pacific, and Matthew and Renee each presented their Honours and HDR research in a session for HDR researchers. The conference was a brilliant opportunity to build networks with others conducting research in the Pacific Islands.
