MSc Candidate Stephanie Chan and Post-Doctoral Fellow Dr. Harri Pettitt-Wade visited Ulukhaktok, Northwest Territories, Canada from July 13 - 27. Together, they conducted co-interpretation exercises using interviews and workshops to share research findings and document local knowledge of Greenland cod (Gadus ogac), uugaq. The goal of this exercise will be to gain a more comprehensive understanding on the ecological role of Greenland cod in coastal marine ecosystems and implications for Inuit under a period of rapid environmental change.
